Cyndi Lauper urges Susan Boyle to take film role

Cyndi Lauper says it would be "fantastic" if British singing sensation Susan Boyle accepted an offer to be in a planned film starring the U.S. pop singer and actress Tippi Hedren.

Susan Boyle, at 47, became one of the world's hottest celebrities virtually overnight after her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" on "Britain's Got Talent" this month with the clip already viewed around 50 million times on YouTube.

Lauper and Hedren are due to start work on dramatic comedy "Section B," a tale about Baby Boomers who put their lives on hold to chase their dreams. The film also stars Queen Emily David, a finalist on "America's Got Talent."

The film's director Darla Rae has asked Boyle to appear in the film and sing a duet with David.

"That's great, that's fantastic," Lauper said when told by Reuters about the offer to Boyle, a Scottish spinster with untamed hair and a plain-spoken manner.

"I think she's a kick. I really like her," said Lauper.

"She stated very clearly 'I always wanted to sing in front of a large audience' and as soon as she did she said 'thank you' and left, " she added. "She wasn't really interested in what they had to say. She did what she wanted to do and that was sing. That's what wonderful singers are like."

Lauper was being interviewed for her latest film "Here and There," which stars her husband David Thornton and in which she has a small role. The movie premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival this week.

Rae said in a statement on the website of her company Film It Productions, www.film-itproductions.com, that she has offered Boyle a role in "Section B."

"Susan studied at Edinburgh Acting School in the early '90s but was forced to leave and care for her sick mother. I'd love to help her finally realize her dream of being an actress! We've even sent offers through the local pub manager where Susan Boyle sings Karaoke," Rae said.

Boyle has appeared on Larry King Live in the United States and in countless newspaper and Internet articles.

Susan Boyle two new songs which we never heard before

The 48-year-old recorded two songs ten years ago and distributed them to only a handful of her closest friends in the village of Blackburn, West Lothian.

The recording, which was unearthed by Telegraph.co.uk, features two songs - an early version of the blues ballad Cry Me a River and Killing Me Softly with His Song, the track immortalised by Roberta Flack in 1973.

The recording was made at her own expense with Miss Boyle telling friends at the time that she had "spent all her savings" on it.

A friend of Ms Boyle, who gave the recording to Telegraph.co.uk, said she had forgotten about the tape until her friend shot to global fame.

The friend, who did not want to be named, said: "I had heard lots of stories of what a great singer Susan was but I had never heard her sing.

"So she came past one day and told me she had made this tape of a couple of songs – she said to take care of it as it had cost her all her savings to get it made.

"She said she hadn't had many made and had only given a few out to her closest friends in the village.

"I forgot about it then when I watched Britain's Got Talent I suddenly remembered I had it. I listened to it again and thought it was incredible that she had not been discovered until now.

"Now millions of people all over the world have fallen in love with her voice and I hope they get to hear this tape. It's an incredible story."

Susan Boyle : 'I'm happy the way I am"

Susan Boyle given a interview to Times Online and clearly told the media that 'I'm happy the way I am".

Earlier this week Mezhgan Hussainy, the "American Idol" makeup artist teamed with DailyMakeover.com, to give Boyle some new looks as above. And after that rumor start surfacing about her drastic makeover

But today she clearly told the Time online that "I would not go in for Botox or anything like that."

The interview states that Boyle is a volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes church in Whitburn, Scotland, and visits elderly members of the congregation at their homes several times a week. She admits ruefully, however, what with all the sudden media attention -- including a reported invitation this past Thursday to appear on Oprah -- "I haven't had a chance to see them this week."

When 1st time i saw her on Tv "She just looks like anybody who could live on my street". who happens to be a flaxen-haired beauty with a flawless complexion.

But Mezhgan Hussainy, the "American Idol" makeup artist teamed with DailyMakeover.com, to give Boyle some new looks as above.

Amanda is also against her drastic makeover she said" "I won't let Simon Cowell take her to his dentist, and I certainly won't let her near his hairdresser," " Britain's Got Talent" judge Amanda Holden told the UK Mirror.

The matronly 48-year-old "needs to stay exactly as she is because that's the reason we love her," said Holden, who happens to be a flaxen-haired beauty with a flawless complexion. "She just looks like anybody who could live on your street.

I am also agree with you Amanda "The minute we turn her into a glamor-puss is when it's spoiled."

Are you listening, Mezhgan Hussainy?

After apologize now Piers Morgan blogs about Susan Boyle

Piers Morgan, one of the three judges on Britain's Got Talent, blogs today at The Daily Beast, recalling when he first saw Susan Boyle.

"I can remember the moment like it was yesterday. We were at a big theater in Glasgow, Scotland, back in January. It had been a long, hard day at the audition coalface, with very little talent on display.

Then Susan bounced on stage, full of tartan bonhomie, and the reaction was instantaneous: 3,000 people laughed their heads off, me and my co-judges, Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, stifled a chuckle, and the clear message from our collective expressions was "This is going to be a car-crash performance of epic proportions."

But, he continues, "within just a few seconds, the joke was suddenly on us.

I can honestly say it was one of the most extraordinary moments in my perhaps equally unlikely career as a talent-show judge."

Watching the show over the weekend, he writes: "As I watched this astonishing scene unfurl again when the show aired in Britain on Saturday night, I texted Simon in Hollywood: "My god, Susan was even better than I remembered—she’s unbelievable." He agreed, and I could almost feel his beady little eyes going ‘KERCHING!’ down the line from his new Beverly Hills mansion."

Wow !! Judges Apologize To Susan Boyle

On The Early Show Friday, two of the three judges when Boyle made her bow on "Britain's Got Talent" chatted with co-anchor Julie Chen.

Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan told Chen they were simply amazed when Boyle began to sing -- especially considering how they'd prejudged her by her looks.

"I mean," said Holden, "it's a very shallow thing to say but, obviously, the minute she walked onstage we all, and the audience, completely judged her on her appearance and everything else. And I hate saying that. But, you know, that true cliche, we judged a book by its cover, unfortunately, and we're all very cynical. The audience was jeering and booing and it was just really uncomfortable, wasn't it? And we were, 'Oh, just please be good or just get off. Because it's just -- we just need you to do something here,' because we were so dying for her."

Morgan said, "I would just like to apologize to Susan Boyle, because I think it's long overdue, because, from the clip, you know, (millions of) people could see that Simon Cowell (the third judge that night -- he of "American Idol" fame) and I -- we don't have the best reputations, I think, for courtesy in America. I think we owe her on apology because it was an amazing performance. As I said, we were all laughing at her when she started, and by the end, the last laugh was on her."

Holden said the second the first notes came out of Boyle's mouth that night, they knew they "had found gold."
